Christmas has come early for Wakefield mum Margaret C., who won a record breaking £25,000 on the X Factor slots at Costa Bingo.

The 49-year-old – who plays under the alias belfastgirl -  now plans to use the windfall to help pay for her daughter’s wedding.

“I was really happy when I won the money.  I am going to give some to my only daughter who has just got engaged,” she said.

It was the biggest win Costa Bingo has ever paid out on the slots, according to operations director Debbie Gent.

“We’re absolutely thrilled for Margaret. It’s a great time of year to win some extra cash and – with a family wedding on the horizon – what could be better.

“This is the first time we’ve had a winner this big at Costa Bingo.  I hope there will be many more,” she said.

Margaret C. had only been playing at Costa Bingo since November when she hit the Jackpot on the X Factor Steps to Stardom Instant Slots.

She said:  “This year, I am looking forward to having a really enjoyable Christmas with no worries.  I have played bingo ever since I was small and really love the game.  I especially love playing at Costa Bingo,” she said.
